Achievements

The Department has produced a huge number of graduates, postgraduates and doctorates since 1960. In fact, the student intake in each of the above-mentioned tiers has increased with time keeping in mind the demand for qualified engineers to serve society. Running an evening course to provide a platform to working diploma engineers to enhance their knowledge and competence over the years is no doubt a unique achievement of the department. This department has always served to study and provide solutions to current problems in society through research and consultancy. The departments also thrive to foresee and solve future problems. In this process, the department contributes substantially to the University research fund. Apart from research and consultancy projects the department regularly organizes seminars, workshops and conventions in different thrust areas and has even organized a number of vocational training courses to equip practising technicians with advanced knowledge. Though the University has a dedicated centre for training and placement, the department often takes initiative to arrange for internships and placement of her students.
