The journey of Physics Department of Jadavpur University has started since 1956 under the efficient leadership of renowned scientist Prof. Shyamadas Chatterjee.

About

Over the years, the department of Physics has developed into a significant Centre of academic activities involving different branches of Physics. It has acquired distinction as a Centre of Advanced Studies and Research in both theoretical and experimental Physics. The Department offers: B. Sc. (Honours) Physics (3 Year) M.Sc. in Physics (2 Year) M.Sc. in Physics (Evening) (3 Year) M. Sc. Electronics Science (2 Year) Post M.Sc. Diploma in Medical Physics (2 Semester) and Ph.D.
