It may be mentioned that Nanoscience and Technology is one of the major thrust areas of research in our University for the last two decades. We have a proven track record of performing high-quality research which is reflected in our list of publications and other credentials. More than 30 faculty members from Engineering and Science faculties are engaged in the activity of the School. The School is also offering an M.Tech course on Nanoscience and Technology since 2004. The main vision of the School is to carry out cutting edge research in Nanoscience and Technology and also to produce qualified manpower

Research Areas

• Development of novel nanomaterials for energy harvesting technology: This research will include light-harvesting technology using nanomaterials; mechanical energy harvesting technology using piezoelectric nanogenerator; development of triboelectric nanogenerator, development of technology route for solar energy assisted water splitting for hydrogen production, etc.• Development of color-tunable light source using nanomaterials, with particular emphasis on generating white light emission from bio-compatible nanomaterials• Development of quantum dot/nanowire-based devices and sensors• Both organic and inorganic perovskite solar photovoltaic technology: We would like to develop high performing solar cells using tailored nanostructured organic and inorganic perovskite nanomaterials• Development of ultra-low-power consuming display technology using graphene-based novel nanoarchitecture• Development of high performing Supercapacitor for energy storage application• Development of technology for high-quality production of 2D nanomaterials and its applications in diverse fields• Computational Materials Science and nanotechnology• Nano Bio-Technology• There are several external funded research projects running in the School. The faculty members of the School are pursuing collaborative research works also.
