Faculty Council (Courses): Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts, comprising 13 Departments, was established in 1956, and has distinguished itself through innovative teaching and interdisciplinary research. Teaching programmes include BA (Honours), MA, MPhil, and PhD courses. The quality of teaching and research is evident from the fact that eight out of thirteen departments are part of the Special Assistance Programme of the UGC, with six departments enjoying the highest status as Centres of Advanced Study (CAS).
