About

Debajit Datta is an Associate Professor of Geography at Jadavpur University. He obtained BSc (Presidency College, Kolkata) in 2004 and MSc (University of Calcutta) in Geography in 2006. He was awarded PhD in 2012 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Before joining Jadavpur University in 2015, he was Assistant Professor in the Education Service of Government of WB since 2010. He has extensively worked on the management of coastal and forest ecosystems as well as sustainable livelihood generation of indigenous communities of eastern India for the last 17 years.
