Dr. Monisha Chakraborty is Professor at School of Bio-Science & Engineering, Jadavpur University. She completed her graduation (in Instrumentation & Electronics Engineering), Post-graduation (in Biomedical Engineering) and Ph.D. Degree in Engineering from Jadavpur University. She is awarded with University Gold Medal for standing First Class First in Master of Engineering Examination. She was a GATE scholarship holder student. She completed her PhD in Engineering in the area of High Energy Imaging materials related to II-VI Sensor Technology from Jadavpur University. She was awarded with a Major Research Project by University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Govt. of India in the area of Electronics related to II-VI Compound based materials. She worked as Principal Investigator of UGC sponsored Major Research Project, entitled, “Studies and Applications of II-VI Compound based Semiconducting Devices”. She worked as Principal Investigator of the Project, “Upgradation of biosignal and biomedical image acquisition systems with realtime wireless data transmission and also upgradation of analytical sensing (Electroless coater, Electroplating and Anodization) setups to remove the chemical smokes during the reaction time” Under RUSA 2.0. She worked as Principal Investigator of the Project, “Analytical Study of Biomedical Signals for the evaluation of psychosomatic disorders”, under seed support of “Potential for Excellence”, Scheme, Jadavpur University. She already guided forty (40) students in their Master of Biomedical Engineering thesis as sole thesis advisor. At present she is guiding five (5) students in their Master of Biomedical Engineering thesis as sole thesis advisor. She already supervised six (6) scholars in their PhD thesis work and out of these six scholars five are already awarded. Out of these six PhD scholars three of them completed their PhD thesis under her sole supervision. Other students are pursuing their PhD thesis under her sole supervision. She worked as Joint Secretary of the National Conference on Environmental Radiation: Impact on Society and its Implications (ERISI-2019) held at Jadavpur University, November 15-16, 2019. She worked as one of the co-ordinators of a Refresher course at School of Bio-Science and Engineering, Jadavpur University. She also performed as an anchor of many programs in Jadavpur University. Regarding her Hobbies and performance in Creative Art, she loves Rabindrasangeet. She feels, this is a medium that can unite us all with strings of emotion. Rabindranath Tagore is always with us in all our emotions. He is present every time and everywhere. Her two Rabindrasangeet music albums “Tomar Sure” and “Tomar Kaache” are released at Kolkata International Book Fair 2018 and 2019 respectively. She also sings Nazrulgeeti, Hindi Ghazal, Hindi and Bengali modern songs, Shyamasangeet, Rajanikanta Sen’s song She rendered Rabindrasangeet at CTVN AKD Plus Channel in the programme “Pratidiner Rabindranath”. She rendered Rabindrasangeet in the program Jukebox at TARA News channel She rendered Rabindrasangeet, modern Bengali songs, Shyamasangeet, Rajanikanta Sen’s song, Nazrulgeeti and recited some of her poems and a part of short stories written by her in several programs of Surer Aakashe” at High News television Channel on their invitation. Recently, before Durga Puja she rendered Rabindrasangeet, Ghazal, Nazrulgeeti, Aagomoni song, modern Bengali song and recited one of her poems at RPLUS television channel in the program Gane gane LIVE and RPLUS Facebook LIVE. She was invited at Press Club Kolkata for rendition at their programs “Rabindra Nazrul Jayanti 2024” and “Basanta Utsab 2025”. Her music rendition got places at several Newspapers. Her hobby also includes writing poems in English, Hindi and Bengali. Her book of poems, “Journey so Far: A Glimpse” is released at Kolkata International Book Fair 2019. Story book “Bondhu” written by her is released at Kolkata International Book Fair 2022. Her poems and short stories are published in several Newspapers, Magazines and Sarodiya Sonkhya. Some of her poems got places in books published by Aananda Prokashan. Monisha is always supported by her father Mr. Sukhamoy Chakraborty and mother Mrs. Bharati Chakraborty in all aspects of her life starting from academics to music and writings. Monisha feels her to be so fortunate to have so lovable parents. Monisha is very much thankful and grateful to her listeners’ for encouraging her to give her hobby a shape. The book, “Bondhu” written by her in Bengali contains stories of modern time where importance of friendship in life has got an immense space and the book, “Journey so Far: A Glimpse”, is a glimpse of the journey of her life so far containing her childhood expressions and her few poems in English, Hindi and Bengali written at different times as mentioned with dates. Monisha is thankful to all her readers who read this journey. She is curious about the remaining part of her journey.
